You need to get ready for your date, or do you think you can just show up there without having things prepared and things happen by itself? No, a lot of dates do not work out because the approach was wrong to begin with. In any way, you want to leave a mark of yourself, something memorable, something that stands out or if not that, you want to have at least the basics covered, such as looking good, taking your date to the right place for dinner, going out for a drink, going to an event or whatever it might be.

Here we will give you some suggestions that might help, if you live in the LA area.

Get you hair done, get your eyebrows tuned up (which does miracles), get a tan, make sure your credit cards are not close to the limit, just look good, buy flowers (expensive ones are better!)...whatever it takes! Physical appearance is at least 50% of your success. You can not be cheap on a good date, nor should you ever shortcut on anything that is going to happen on a date, maybe even unforeseen events. Go all out and go with it, if you are serious about it and things look promising!

Here are some places that are very helpful and do the trick for you, these are insider tips from someone who knows, someone who has "been there" and "done that".

Get a haircut, Manicure / Pedicure: There is a small and very hip hair salon by the name of Estetica Salon in Beverly Hills (9635 Brighton Way - 310.274.1553). You want to get your haircut there by a guy named Jospeh, and Joseph only. He is one of the hottest hairdressers in town, he will shape and create a haircut for you that is make you look at your best ever. This guy is the unknown celebrity hair dresser, has a heavy clientele and is a true artist. Why haven't you heard about him? Because he doesn't care and is too busy!

There is also another very hip hairdresser in The Standard Hotel on Sunset Blvd. (go there if Joseph is booked out), by the name of Jim. Very hip and cool haircutter and he is a master of "Razor Cuts". He always knows what cuts are "in, happening or upcoming". He is very inexpensive, fast and really good...hip music, cool atmosphere and fast service. Pull up The Standard Hotel, valet your car and get validation before you leave, for free parking.

Get a facial: One of the best known places for that would be Anastasia (438 N Bedford Dr. - 310.273.3155), she is located right around the corner from Estetica Salon. You might want to schedule your appointments and go back to back. Even if you do not date, you might do something nice for yourself. Anybody will appreciate a nice looking face!

Get Flowers: What is a date without flowers! This place called Fleur du jour - 310.399.9131 in Santa Monica has the most incredible flower arrangements we have ever seen. Tropical flowers, tastefully arranged with and artfully presented, really amazing and a feast for the eye. Flowers from this place will make women's hearts melt, regardless of who brings them. If you want to impress and leave a great impression in a women's heart, get your flowers here.

Get decent clothes: Look, do not show up in 10 year old jeans, a sloppy t-shirt and sandals. At least have some decent clothing, somewhat up to date, please! Do not be fooled by Beverly Hills being expensive, there are many places in this area where you will find very inexpensive clothing, you just have to carefully look around. There are several places to go to, but for sure try Banana Republic, Club Monaco, Levy's which are all located on Beverly Dr. Since you are in the area, you might as well stop by at Armani, who is on Brighton Way around the corner (while you are walking up to Estetica Salon or Anastasia).

Get your sexiest side out and polished. Make yourself a head turner and draw attention to yourself. That is probably one of the best ways to get your date really going, make it a challenge, you have the upper hand because you are a women!

Get your eyebrows done: One of the best known places for that would be Damone Roberts (9669 Wilshire Blvd. - 310.271.2100), he is located walking distance from Estetica Salon. Damone's talent for sculpting the perfect arch has graced the faces of some of Hollywood's and the world's most beautiful faces. Even if you do not date, you might do something nice for yourself and give your eyebrow the perfect shape. It makes a huge difference and gives your face a beautiful new touch.

Get a sexy outfit on Robertson Blvd (of course): Between Beverly Blvd. and Third St... This small street is the hottest shopping strip in Los Angeles. Featuring the exclusiveness of Beverly Hills and the cutting-edge cool of Melrose, this is where Hollywood hipsters with real money shop and all the cool stuff you will find here. There is the high-end Maxfield's discount outlet, Maxfield Blue and an Industry MAC store. Slip into some Hogan shoes, or grab a hot dress ar Anne Klein.

If you want to challenge your date, you might as well meet at the Ivy restaurant, one of the best restaurants in the city and a film industry meeting spot, or the Newsroom Café across the street in a building housing New Line Pictures.
